Obituary of James L. Murray

JAMES L. MURRAY Latham- James L. Murray, 86 of Latham, beloved husband of Joan Marsino Murray, entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at his home with his loving family at his side. Born in Troy on July 6, 1930, he was the son of the late J. Leo and Anna (Degen) Murray. Jim married his beloved Joan Marsino on May 31, 1952 and the two have shared a beautiful marriage of over 64 years. Jim was an accountant, employed by Cluett & Peabody Company in Troy for over 38 years and retired in 1989.He was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. He was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 where he and his wife were active in the Elks & Does square dancing group. Jim an avid golfer who scored a hole in one on two occasions. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving daughter Helayne (Daniel) Wright of Cohoes, his cherished grandchildren Kevin (Carrie) Wright, Kristin Savoy, Matthew (Katie) Wright, Melissa (Rob) Paris, adored great-grandchildren Ashley Daniel, Griffin Wright, Duncan Wright, William Woods and Benjamin Woods. Jim was predeceased by his dear daughter Linda Murray. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 27, 2016 at 9:00 am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
