Jim O'Connell posted a condolence

Sincere condolences to Jim's wife Joan and to Members of the Murray Family. Although not mentioned in the obituary, I find it reasonable to assume that this Jim Murray is the Jim Murray who was a member of the Class of 1948 at CCHS in Troy. If so, we were classmates and often found ourselves in the same homeroom since "M" is not far from "O" and everything was alphabetical at CCHS in those days. I recall that Jim played football at CCHS and we all rejoiced when our teams would beat LaSalle. After graduation the 327 of us went our separate ways, with me spending most of the last 60 years in the Syracuse area. Our class did gather a few times over the years for a re-union in Troy and it was great to see friends of yore at those celebrations. I seem to recall interfacing with Jim at our Class' 50th anniversary celebration in 1998, although I could be wrong on this point since we saw so many so fast that evening! Our class' numbers are fast shrinking, what with Jim's passing now and with Jane (Walsh) Cornell's passing very recently and with Vickie Charbonneau and Paul Bourgeois' passing a few months ago. My memories of the youthful Jim Murray from 1948 are of a confident, sometimes exuberant, young man, intelligent, thoughtful of others, with a broad smile often on his countenance, easily and often extending a hand of friendship to everyone who approached him. May he rest in peace! JIM O'CONNELL Skaneateles, NY
