After his discharge he was employed by General Electric in Schenectady. Emery was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family. His passion for life was seen in everything he was involved with. His legacy was defined as an honest, caring, self-made man whose word was his bond. His sense of humor blended well with his personality. He stood up for all he believed in and was the voice of many to improve their life. Emery had a fundamental belief in a fair balance to ensure the companies he negotiated with success while ensuring fair wage and benefits for employees.
