Lou, Maura, Chris, Andrew, Nick, Mike, Lauren & family, I will remember Mr. Balog fondly. At family gatherings he always had a kind word and big, genuine smile for everyone. He gave unselfishly for his country so many years ago, and for that my family and I will always be grateful. I know how wonderful both Mr. & Mrs. Balog were by the stories I hear from their proud grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we're very sorry for your loss. Balog Family, We are so sorry for your loss. No one can ever be ready to lose someone they love. I used to enjoy going with Maura to visit them when she was pregnant with the boys. Your Mom and Dad were always such greatful hosts with their wide spread of eats that they would serve us for lunch. It was a pleasure knowing them both. Lots of love, Stacy, Gary & Family

We, through our daughter Maura's marriage to Louis Jr., came to know Lou and his wonderful wife, Mary, over the past 21 years. In behalf of our family, Ray and Alice Baum and family we offer our deepest condolences to our son-in-law and brother-in-law, Louis and to Lauren and Mike for your loss.To Chris, Andrew, and Nicholas for the loss of your grandfather. Andrew was able to speak to his grandfather often about his WW2 experiences and it has had a profound influence in his interest of historical events that have shaped our country. Lou truly was of that 'Greatest Generation' the heroes of WW2 who served their country with honor. Rest in peace with your Mary, Lou, you have traveled a hard road.
