Irene, You slipped in to join 4 sisters of the Cwalina family at the house on 2nd Avenue. Your less than 3 pounds challenged the family, and brought forth an odd prescription from the doctor: rub her with olive oil, wrap her wool, and place her in the warming oven next to the stove. That, and the loving care of your mother, family, and grace of God, meant life. Through the joys and struggles, you held fast to love of family and friends.
As a young woman I know you liked music - from classical to big band, and dance. You furnished the living room of the family house with copies of 2 Dega paintings of dancers.
I remember joining my family members who stood in the kitchen of our home, where you were living at the time, as each of you shared with me the impossible news that my beloved brother Glen had died. Your embrace, comforting words, and sharing a weekly Novena to St. Anthony for several weeks meant the world to me.
Karen and Bill have attended your final needs with their sweet love and great tenderness. And they move forward having known your enormous love and concern for them. Bill Jr. and Dan have also experienced that love,as have your other family members and friends.
Rest well next to my beloved Glenn, and your precious Frankie. May the peace and comfort of St.Anthony fly with you on the next journey.
Much love, Ruth
