Just looking up Sid Brown, I learn that he lived a long life and died peacefully. My condolences to his family for a life well-lived. I've thought of him often and was gratified more than 10 years ago when I learned he was a consultant at age 85 for Garry at the brewery. I regret I didn't visit the brewery when Sid was still there. I visited Albany, Schenectady and Troy more than three years ago for UAlbany and Troy Times Record staff alumni reunions. When I worked at the Schenectady Gazette (1977 to 1985), Sid Brown was the chief photographer with a Cessna 172 for aerial photographs. I asked him to take me up in the plane with my camera. We flew around Albany as I took photos, then he asked me to take the wheel as he took photos. I protested, but he said to just keep the plane level because he had the pedals.

Sybille, I am very sorry for your loss. Perhaps it best to let your Mom think he is still with us. Just mention to her that he recently visited with her, and she will be content with that. Perhaps he did. God Bless you and your family. We love you. Mike and Judee
