Obituary of Martin L. Jackson

LATHAM - Martin Luther Jackson, 68 of Latham, beloved husband of Sharon (Pierce) Jackson, passed away suddenly Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Born in Plattsburgh, NY, he was the son of the late Walter and Marie (Morgan) Jackson. Martin graduated from Colonie High School, Class of 1974. He and Sharon were married in 1994.

Martin was an auto mechanic by trade. He worked in the automotive industry from the time he graduated high school right up until his retirement. Following retirement, he was proudly employed at Cook Park in the very place he frequented since childhood. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved boating and fishing or riding his Harley. Family meant the most to him; he adored his grandchildren and was a beloved husband, father, stepfather and cherished friend to many. He will be deeply missed yet his legacy and memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Sharon, Martin is survived by his children Stacey Cohn, Angela Jackson, Amanda (Nick) Scheidel, Luke (Amy) Westfall, and Vanessa Westfall. Also survived by his grandchildren Jacob, Laila, Reese, and Carson, as well as his brother Ted (Lin) Jackson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, December 6th, 2024 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. A prayer service will conclude the visitation.
