Obituary of Dr. John Krawchenko

JOHN KRAWCHENKO Florida- Dr. John Krawchenko died peacefully on October 9th in Naples, Florida. Dr. Krawchenko is survived by his wife, Joan Despart Krawchenko; his daughter, Kara Kane Criswell; his grandsons Jack and Wyatt Criswell; his sister Ludmilla Ferrante; and his nieces Kristina Cribb and Lisa Ferrante. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Maria Krawchenko. Dr. Krawchenko was a graduate of Syracuse University for both undergraduate degree and medical school. He served in the Army and achieved the rank of major. Dr. Krawchenko completed his residency in neurosurgery at Upstate Medical Center and practiced in Syracuse prior to opening his practice in Watertown, NY. Dr. Krawchenko cared for patients in Watertown and the surrounding North Country for more than 30 years. He served as Chief of Staff for Samaritan Hospital and was a well-respected member of the community. Dr. Krawchenko was a supporter of the Children's Miracle Network. In his free time, he enjoyed boating and fishing on the St. Lawrence River and spending time with family and friends on Little Ironsides Island. A memorial service is scheduled for October 19th, 2018 at 2:00pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dr. Krawchenko's life.
