CAROL ANN MCMILLAN
Latham-Carol McMillan,74, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2018 at her home in Latham, New York after a courageous fight against an unforgiving brain cancer.
Carol was born on May 6, 1944 and was raised in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh to the late Rudolph and Julia DiCicco. She and her sister Nancy lived amongst their close-knit family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Carol attended Franciscan University studying teaching where she met and later married the love of her life, George McMillan, on July 9, 1966. They moved in 1972 to Latham where they lived and raised their beloved daughters, Denise, Cheryl and Anne Marie. Carol was an admired teacher in the Averill Park School District. Carol's devotion to her family was extraordinary. She went out of her way to make every holiday special, made time to visit all three girls frequently, and taught them life long lessons so they can continue to live by her example. Carol also enjoyed lunches with her girlfriends, traveling, entertaining, dancing, volunteering, and reading.
When Carol and George celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2016, George noted "she is my guardian angel" and those who knew her know that she was everyone's guardian angel … as Carol touched so many lives in her own special way.
She is survived by her husband, her sister, her daughters, her son-in-laws Robert, Sean, and Andrew, and seven grandchildren Andrew, Paige, Caitlin, Evan, Hannah, Abigail and Alexander.
