George and family,
When I think of Carol, I think of her beautiful, calming smile.
When I think of Carol, I think of how bright her eyes got when she spoke of George, the man of her dreams.
When I think of Carol, I think of her unconditional love and understanding of each personality traits of her sister, daughters and grandchildren.
When I think of Carol, I feel fortunate I had the opportunity in Ireland to further solidify my lifelong love and respect for her.
When I think of Carol, I know we are all privledged to have shared life with her.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I know how close you were to her and how you were able to spend more time with her recently. Even though I didn't know your mom, I can only imagine what a wonderful person and mother she was. Deepest sympathies to your family. Carol was a guardian angel and touched so many people. When I think of Carol my immediate memory Is how I thought of her as a “second” mom. I admired her so much as a little girl and thought when I have a family I am going to be just like her! She had so many positive qualities and made me feel like I was a part of the family. Mama McMillan did have a reach far beyond her immediate family. As a lonely college student far from my own family, I cherished visits to the McMillan home with Anne Marie to bask in the warmth of such a loving family. Carol was always welcoming and ready with some delicious home-cooked meals and quick wit about our college adventures. And the kindness didn't stop when we graduated - Carol has been a guardian angel for me as well through the years: sending cards with enthusiasm and love, and even care packages as I started my own journey into motherhood. I am so grateful for the time that I was able to spend with Carol, I will keep her loving memory with me always.
