EDWARD MONFRED posted a condolence

Your parents attended my mother's wake/mass at St. Pius Church in late September 2013. Bob looked youthful and hearty as ever as we conversed that day. It was not the greatest of times in the neighborhood, because Barbara Partelow had died several weeks earlier, and Mimi Unger, who also attended that day, died later that night. Leonard Partelow died in December 2014.
It is devasting to me to learn from Bob's obiturary that Nancy had died during July 2015, because I had no knowledge of this If I had, I would have reached out to him at the time. We used to regularly conversed for years as I finished my running course around Diana. And, little did I know that he had also served in the Navy -- so much history that is lost.
My time in the neighborhood goes back to 1951 and now that the Benjamins are no longer here, it's sad to know that a "founding generation" of people who populated this micro-community are now all gone. In any case, there is one memory that cherishes them all, but Bob's smile, laugh, and pleasantries will be missed above all!

I am very sorry to hear of Bobs passing. My condolences to all. I so enjoyed both he and Nancy...such fine people. I remember the many laughs we had at Schroon Lake. Bob always had that great smile and that dry sense of humor. Lots of wonderful memories..... Rich Hahl

To Joyce & Family,
I was heart broken to hear of your Dad's passing. I will cherish the memories of swimming with him at the town pool this summer and kayaking on Schroon Lake. He would tell me often how proud he was of his family. He will be missed.
