I had the good fortune of sitting next to Sam at Easter brunch this year, as he was a guest of my niece who also attends SUNY Geneseo. True to everything I have heard about Sam, I found him to be a bright and very likeable young man. After brunch, everyone in our family remarked on how charming he was, and what a really positive impression he made on everyone there. We were heartbroken to hear of his passing, and he will be remembered by us always. I hope it brings some small measure of comfort knowing that even those who don't know your family, or knew Sam very well, will keep him in our memories. Our family will be keeping yours in our thoughts and prayers.

I had the pleasure of meeting Sam as a freshman. I worked as a cashier at Fusion Market. I loved calling him Hat Boy. Just a few weeks ago I asked him where his hat was and he commented I've matured I don't need it. Sam was a very sweet and kind young man. I can not imagine losing a child. Sam I am filled with overwhelming sadness and my heart is broken. I have no words to express my total disbelief that you have been called home by God to be another one of his angels in heaven. Why???
