JOAN S. REINIGER HALFMOON- Joan S. Reiniger, 63 of Halfmoon, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 9 at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Troy on January 20, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Thelma (Weber) Reiniger. Joan was employed for over 25 years as a Machinist at Gobaine (formerly Norton Co.) in Watervliet, retiring in 2002. Since 2006, she was an employee at Wal-Mart in Clifton Park where she forged many friendships over the years. Joan was also a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching all types of sports and she enjoyed bowling especially in leagues at Latham Bowl. Joan is survived by her loving sister: Barbara (Leo) Couture of Spring Hill, TN as well as her cherished nieces and nephews; Amy (Jerry) Riss of Latham, Lori (Mark) Howard of TN and Daren (Tanja) Couture of Seattle, WA and great nieces & nephews: Josh, Alex, Zach, Grant, Jack, Dylan, Brooke, Jessica & Skylar, and many close and special friends. She is predeceased by her Brother Walter Reiniger Jr. and sister Joyce Wachunas. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday July 13 from 4-6 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A celebration of Joan's life will take place at 6:00 pm at the funeral home immediately following the visitation with Rev. Francis Dubois officiating.
