JANE D. FRANKO
Latham- Jane D. Franko, 92 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Bernard Franko, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 19, 2017 with her loving family at her side.
Born in Little Falls, on June 21, 1924, she was the daughter of of the late Francis and Helen (Hooks) Donovan. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Little Falls. Jane was married to Bernard on May 14, 1949 and the two shared a blessed union of 45 years prior to his passing on November 14, 1994.
Jane was employed with the Town of Colonie in the Town Clerk's Office as a Secretary, a position she retired from after many years of service. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. Jane was an avid sports fan of all sports and loved attending all of her grandchildren's games. Her greatest joy in life was her family especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children; Linda Lee (Mike) Lephart of Niskayuna, Cheryl (Mike) Smith of Latham, Gary B. (Kathleen) Franko of Latham and Scott J. (Eileen) Franko, her 8 cherished grandchildren Michael (Kelly) Lephart, Scott Lephart, Cory (Katherine) Smith, Erika (T.J.) Lieberman, Jason (Mary Grace) Franko, Brendan Franko, Brian Franko and Emily Franko, she is also survived by her 8 adored great-grandchildren. Jane was predeceased by her brother Richard Donovan and her sister Ann Furlan.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday morning February 23, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Jane on Thursday after the calling period at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
Interment will take place next to her husband Bernard in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
Donations in memory of Jane Franko may be made to the St. Jude's Children's research hospital 1 Computer Dr. S. #104 Albany, NY 12205.
