Dear Janice-
I hope your dad's loving spirit always serves to protect you.
He was always so kind to me, and he and your mother were so devoted to each other, and so helpful to everyone. I am so thankful that his work is in every room of my house. He restored every valuable treasure I own, and every irreplaceable piece of furniture my grandparents gave me. I never took it for granted, and admire it so much. I will never forget the day, in 2008, when your parents surprised me and came to our opening of James Cotton's Ice Cream Parlor, in Sand Lake. It was a 1915 structure I helped repair with the Girl Scouts. I was so happy to have him there - he appreciated history so much and worked hard to save it for all to appreciate. I see a lot of his loving spirit in you -
I will be thinking of you -

I remember many holidays on Delaware Court, listening to the fire fighter scanner or Uncle Dave chasing me because he knew his beard tickled! I always felt a little more special because our super cool uncle was MY Godfather. I am grateful for all of the memories, for all of the love and passion he put into everything he did, for always being here for my family, for his great laugh and infectious smile. You never think the last casual, "good bye. I miss you and will see you soon" will be the last. Love you Uncle Dave, Aunt Kathy, Jan, Lynn, Rich, Dominic and Derrick.
