Bronx- Marina Inez Maldonado, 34 of the Bronx, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 21, 2017 after fighting a long courageous battle with lupus and liver disease.
She was born in Bronx, New York on April 21, 1982 and was raised in Latham New York. She attended school at Emma Willard and graduated from Shaker High School in 2000.
Marina loved nature, hiking and living a healthy lifestyle. She was a spiritual, positive, happy and beautiful woman and was loved by those around her. She was a friend to us all and could always be counted on. Her spirit and influence will live on in those she touched.
She is survived by her loving parents, Thomas and Miriam Maldonado, her siblings Andrea Maldonado, Alexander (Gina) Maldonado, Christina (Carlos) Cordero and Thomas (Sara Olsen) Maldonado as well as her seven amazing nephews.
She was blessed to have her Aunt Elizabeth Pantoja and Uncle John Miller there to take loving care of her for the past two years.
In Lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Marina's favorite charities, the Lupus foundation, Make-A-Wish and Habitat for Humanity.
Relatives and friends are invited at a memorial gathering on Saturday January 28, 2017 from 12:00-2:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham with a memorial service to be celebrated at 2:00 pm at the conclusion of the gathering.
