Obituary of Thomas Nicholas Swartz

THOMAS NICHOLAS SWARTZ In loving memory of Thomas Nicholas Swartz, 31, of Latham; who was called home on Monday, November 7, 2016. He gained his wings while being surrounded by his loving family and closest friends. Thomas was born on June 2, 1985 to Marie Zarvis and Ronald Swartz in Tucson, Arizona, however he was raised in Upstate New York. Thomas was a man of many talents which included repairing and refurbishing cars as well as motorcycles with a specific love for Hondas. He was a meticulous handyman building and designing everything to exact detail. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bonfires, camping, "making it rain" and most importantly spending time with his family and cherished son. Thomas was an incredibly humble, patient, gentle soul who wanted nothing more than to give to others. It is a blessing that we are able to make light in this dark time knowing that Thomas is continuing to give the gift of life by being an organ donor to many. For someone who had such a beautiful heart it is an amazing feeling to know his heart will continue to live on, and that someone else will be given the gift of sight through his beautiful eyes. Thomas is survived by his girlfriend Erica Volland, aka his sunshine, his son Garrett Swartz, mother Marie Zarvis, father Ronald Swartz, grandmother Joann Cusack, brothers and sisters Jason Sale, Alisha Sale, Crystal Sale, Grayson Swartz, Andrew Sale, Greg Amyot; nieces and nephews Marisha Sale, Jason Sale, Kianna Amyot, Ramona Sale, Gunnar Felton, Maxx Felton, Cash Sale, and Carter Sale(godson). Relatives and friends may call at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old London Road Latham on Saturday November 12 from 3-6 pm with an immediate service to follow at the funeral home at 6:00 pm.
