Obituary of Doris M. Veit

DORIS M. VEIT Latham- Doris M. (Keefe –Freeman) Veit, 86 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Kenneth Veit, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Albany on December 25, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Elizabeth (Laraway) Keefe. She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute. Doris was with the Bell Independent Group at New York Telephone for over 30 years. Doris was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Joseph Zaloga Post #1520 in Albany, Menands Senior Citizens, Telephone Pioneers of America and was an honorary life member of the Columbietts Council #173. She is survived by her loving step-daughters: Linda (John) M. Allocco, Mary (Rudy) Buck and Kathleen Veit, 4 cherished step grandchildren, 6 adored step great grandchildren as well as her three nephews: John, Robert and Thomas Keefe. Doris is predeceased by her daughter, Linda Freeman and her brother, John Joseph Keefe Jr. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday October 30 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Doris's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 31 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Fr. Geoffrey Burke officiating Entombment will take place in St. Agnes Mausoleum, Menands.
