My sincerest condolences to you all. I know the pain of addiction as my son was addicted and has been clean for awhile now but the fear or relapse is so real. He finally sought mental health treatment and attends meetings regularly but it has been a long struggle and will continue to be.
Thank you for sharing your story. I, too, believe we need to end the silence and shaming of this disease.

My condolences to family and friends of Tom. My heart goes out to you. I have personal experience with loss of loved ones and friends to addiction. I was once told by someone I loved very much that Herion was stronger than any other need or love. That no one can love you enough or bribe you enough or threaten you enough or arrest you enough to make someone stop using. That one had to have lived that life to understand. I am too left trying to understand how to help someone in this circumstance. I am so sorry , so sorry. For your family and for the families I know who also try to understand. Good Journey Tom. I wanted to extend my sincere and deepest sympathy on the loss of Tom. I did not know Tom or your family, but I had a twin brother, and anytime I see someone who has lost their "wombmate" I feel deeply as I just recently lost my beloved twin. On top of your loss, you are dealing with a tragedy of depression, with so much pain, so many questions, assumptions, guilt, and a personal tremendous loss. I pray that Tom is RIP in knowing how deeply he was loved and that you all will find peace in your memories, love, family and friends and peace of mind knowing you all did your best in your commitment to Tom, comfort that he is safe and you do not have to worry about his "physical" being, but only his sole resting at peace finally in the love and comfort of the many memories that will hopefully begin to sustain you all in the days, weeks, months and yesrs ahead.
