Obituary of Carolyn B. "Callie" Lipe

CAROLYN B. "CALLIE" LIPE Latham - Carolyn B. "Callie" Lipe, 86 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Robert H. Lipe, entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Guilford, Maine on April 27, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Volney H. and Roberta H. (Zimmerman) Kallgren. She was a Corporal in the U.S. Army stationed in Tokyo during the Korean War. Callie was a Copy Editor employed by Mechanical Technology in Latham. She was a longtime member of the Colonie Elks Lodge # 2192 ladies auxiliary. She was a member of the Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Colonie. Survivors include her loving children, Richard C. (Rosanne) Lipe of Waltham, MA, James R. (Charlotte) Lipe of Latham and Barbara (Robert) Kane of Fly Creek, NY, her sister Gloria Dionne of North Providence RI as well as her 4 cherished grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 18, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Interment will be next to her husband Bob in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
