Obituary of Robert E. Pemberton

ROBERT E. PEMBERTON Latham-Robert "Bob" Earl Pemberton, 91 of Latham went to be with his beloved wife, Dolores, and his Lord and Savior May 7, 2016 from the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center. Born in Hudson, NY on December 8, 1924, son of Kenneth Pemberton and Mary Curtis Pemberton. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dolores Mary Fanning Pemberton and son Robert M. "Mike" Pemberton. They had 3 children Mike, Deborah (Michael) A. Szesnat of Latham and Kenneth Scott Pemberton of Northville as well as 5 grandchildren, Michael "Pauly" Szesnat Jr., Joshua (Abby) Pemberton, Morgan Szesnat, Miranda and Zachary Cote and 7 great grandchildren, Michael III, Annissa, Christian and Selena Szesnat, Cameron Szesnat Medina and Maliyah and Maxillion Szesnat Bruno. Bob enlisted at 17 in the US Navy; He fought in WWII in the N. Atlantic, S. Pacific, Mediterranean, Guadalcanal, and African Invasion. He worked in construction building the NYS Campus, South Mall in Albany and the West Milton Nuclear Submarine Plant. He volunteered in the Niverville and Fuller Road fire departments and was Chaplain at Fuller Road. He was Vice Commander in his 80's at his VFW Post and a member of the DAV and American Legion. He loved being a part of the Vets of Albany Choir and Bell Choir where he was affectionately nicknamed "Popeye". A memorial gathering will be held at Grace Fellowship Church, 20 Delatour Rd. Latham Thursday May 19th beginning at 4:00 pm with the service starting at 6:30. Burial will be at the Saratoga National Cemetery with military honors at the convenience of the family.
