Obituary of Mary A. Morris

MARY A. MORRIS Latham - Mary A. Morris, 92 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Robert E. Morris, entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at her home in Latham with her loving daughter and son-in-law at her side. Born in Albany, on December 31, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Maria (Busone) D'Alessandro. She was a graduate of Watervliet High School. She married her beloved Robert E. Morris on October 4, 1952 and the two shared a beautiful 42 years of marriage prior to his passing January 31, 1995. She worked many years at the Albany County Clerk's off as well as Macy and Peerless Co. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. Mary was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She had a flair for fashion and interior decorating. She will be missed greatly by her family and many friends. Survivors include her loving daughter Marylisa Rice and son-in-law Stephen of Latham and her grandson Robert Rice (Tim). In addition to her husband and parents Mary was pre-deceased by her siblings Ralph, Sammy, Rosie, and Michael Gazalone and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Peter D'Alessandro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 6, 2016 at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating . Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands at the convenience of the family.
