KENNETH K. BROOKS SR. Malta- Kenneth K. "Pop" Brooks Sr., 80 of Malta, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. Born in Green Island, he was the son of the late Harold A. and Ethel Merritt Brooks. Ken was educated in Troy Public Schools. He served his country during Korean World War II in the U.S. Army and was the recipient of the Purple Heart . He was a Truck Driver, employed by Imperial Freight Lines, Montgomery Ward, New York State Transport and was a member of Teamsters Local #294. He retired from Albany Transport. He was a former ranger at VanPatten Golf Course in Clifton Park. Survivors include his beloved wife Donna (Palmer) Brooks, his son Kenneth K. (Amy) Brooks Jr., his sister Maggie, brother Raymond (Joan) Brooks, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his special nieces and nephews who were very important to him. Ken was predeceased by his daughter Robin Bashford on Sept. 23, 1996. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham. Interment Memory's Garden, Colonie. In Lieu of flowers donations to the Community Hospice of Saratoga 179 Lawrence St. Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 would be appreciated.
