Obituary of Philip T. Giordano Sr.

PHILIP T. GIORDANO SR. Daytona Beach Florida - Philip T. Giordano Sr., 86 of Daytona Beach, beloved husband of the late Florence H. Gelina Giordano and Elide D. Smilovich-Travis Giordano, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Florida Hospital in Ormond Beach Florida. Phil was a graduate of LaSalle Institute Class of 1942. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. In 1947 he started Phil's Oil Heat Company in Watervliet and later Phil's Service Station located in various locations within the City of Watervliet. He was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge # 2192. Phil was a member and past president of the Watervliet Kiwanis Club. He was a former communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Watervliet. Survivors include his loving son Philip T. (Denise) Giordano Jr. of Latham, his granddaughter, Genevieve Giordano and great granddaughters Jillian and Alysa Hess. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham on Tuesday June 3, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. with Rev. Arthur Toole officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 4-7 at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
