RAYMOND F. KILMARTIN Latham- Raymond F. "Poppy" Kilmartin, 87 of Latham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's in Albany with his loving family at his side. Born in Albany on October 3, 1928, he was the son of the late Francis and Frances V. (Hillebrandt) Kilmartin. He was a graduate of Vincentian Institute. Raymond proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Army stationed in Germany. He was married to the former Carolyn McConnell who passed away in 1992. Raymond was employed with Niagara Mohawk in North Albany as a Heavy Equipment Operator for over 33 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the North Albany V.F.W. Post #1610. Raymond loved reading, crosswords and history. He also loved technology and truly enjoyed the art of photography. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Menands. He is survived by his six loving children: Raymond (Marlene) Kilmartin of Brunswick, Karen (James) Stuart of Colonie, Dan (Gail) Kilmartin of Schaghticoke, Frances (Mark) Macutek of Loudonville, Mary (Stephen Ingerson) Cimo of East Greenbush and Edward (Michele) Kilmartin of Clifton Park. He cherished in his heart the memory of his predeceased son: Mickey Kilmartin. He is also survived by his 16 cherished grandchildren: Erin Kilmartin, Kevin Crosier, Carly (Rob) Pollock, Meagan Stuart, Shane Stuart, Mickey Kilmartin, Danny (Michele) Kilmartin, Katie Kilmartin, Hal Kilmartin, Matthew Macutek, Tommy Macutek, Jason Macutek, Jerry Cimo, Carolyn Cimo, Sean Kilmartin and Jake Kilmartin as well as his sister Elizabeth Rothmund of Latham and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday March 28, 2016 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Raymond's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 29 at 9:30 am at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville with Fr. James Walsh officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice: Gift Processing Center, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 Interment will take place next to his wife Carolyn in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
