ADAM PHILIP SATTLER
Latham- Adam Philip Sattler, 82 of Latham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Community Hospice of Albany at Memorial Hospital.
Born in Albany on May 31, 1927, he was the son of the late Philip A. and Elizabeth (Eschenbecker) Sattler. It was on February 10, 1979 that he married the former Constance Martin and the two have shared a blessed union of 30 years. Adam was a graduate of Siena College, and proudly served in the US Army.
He was employed by Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Niskayuna as a Nuclear Engineer, a position from which he retired from in 1987 after 37 years of service.
Adam was a Past member of MENSA as well as the Thundervolts for many years, The ELFUN Society and the Wadsworth Lodge of the Masons. He was also a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Niskayuna.
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include being a second dad to Douglas (Susan) Zautner, Deborah (Peter) Dominic and Laura (Patrick) Wilkie; his cherished grandchildren: Paul, Krista (Rob), Sarah, Nathan & Amber, 7 great grandchildren as well as his 2 sisters: Marie (Roger) Anderson and E. Jane (Bill) James and several nieces and nephews.
Adam is predeceased by his 2 sons;, Adam P. Sattler and Bryan P. Sattler
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday from 4- 6:30 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 6:30 pm at the funeral home immediately following the visitation. Pastor William Clasen will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Adam's memory to the Grace Lutheran Church 1930 Hillside Ave., Niskayuna, NY 12309
