MARIE S. KRAMARZ
Colonie- Marie (Stomper) Kramarz of Colonie, NY and formerly of West Rutland, VT passed away on February 17, 2016 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's in Albany.
Daughter of the late John and Jane Stomper, she was born on May 12, 1928. She attended St. Stanislaus Kostka Elementary School and Mount St. Joseph Academy, graduating in 1946 then Rutland Business College a year later.
On July 5, 1952, Marie married Theodore (Ted) Kramarz of West Rutland.
She was employed by Vt. State Extension Service, then the Town of West Rutland until 1973. Marie worked as an administrative assistant in the Education Department of Castleton State College until her retirement in 1990. She moved to the Beltrone Senior Living Center in Colonie, NY in 2002.
Marie was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and a 38 year member of the West Rutland American Legion Auxiliary Post #87. She was also a member of the Northwest Swim Club in Bethlehem, PA, where she spent many memorable days with her summer friends. Marie also enjoyed reading, Hallmark movies and taking walks in the Crossings Park, but above all family time.
Marie was predeceased by Ted, her husband of 45 years in 1997 and her sister Theresa Mac of East Hartford, CT in 1966. She is survived by her daughters: Susan (David) Smith of Cohoes, NY and Marcia (Roger) Clow of Bethlehem, PA, sister in law: Frances (George) Miglis of Center Rutland, VT and brother in law: Walter (Shirley) Kramarz of Bristol, CT. Marie was "Babci" to her six grandchildren who truly brought great joy to her life: Emily, Nora, Nicholas (fiancée Casey Greene), Jacob Smith and Alexander and Austin Clow. She also loved her treasured cat, Sheba.
Marie will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and their families and her cherished friends from the West Rutland Area.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 10:00- 11:30 am at Mullin- Clifford Funeral Home, 95 Smith St., West Rutland, Vermont
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 12:00 pm at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, West Rutland, Vermont.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Marie's honor to Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany NY 12208
