Obituary of Alice Frances Pfeifer

ALICE FRANCES PFEIFER Watervliet- Alice F. Pfeifer, 84 of Watervliet, beloved wife of Walter C. Pfeifer, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2009 at San Simeon Nursing Home, in Greenport NY. Born in Brooklyn on January 27, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (McCrystal) Payne. She was a graduate of Southside High School in Rockville Centre and the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Manhattan. It was on October 2, 1948 that she married Walter and the two have shared a blessed union of almost 61 years. At one time she was employed as a Secretary at ABC Radio at Rockefeller Center, WHLI Radio in Hempstead and also by Doubleday Publishing Co. in Garden City Long Island. In her spare time she was a former Camp Fire Girls leader, she also enjoyed playing the piano and singing. Alice's family was the center of her life in which she held a special love for them. She was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. Survivors in addition to her beloved husband include her loving children; Mary (Karl) Cutler of Mattituck NY, Patricia Pfeifer of Halfmoon and Edward (Donna) Pfeifer of Latham as well as her cherished grandchildren; Thomas Pfeifer, Kathryn Pfeifer, Karl W. Cutler and Grace Pfeifer. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Francis Dubois Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 4-7 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY.
