FRANK W. D'AMICO Latham- Frank W. D'Amico,89, of Latham, beloved husband of Ann M. Riley D'Amico, entered into eternal life on Wednesday October 28, 2015 at the Teresian House in Albany . Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Frank and Susan R. (Vazzana) D'Amico. He was a graduate of Cohoes High School Class of 1944. Frank married his beloved Ann M. Riley on October 26, 1952 at the original St. Ambrose Church in Latham. The couple had cherished a beloved 63 years before his passing. He proudly served in the US Army in World War II, stationed in Korea. He was a Supervisor of the mail supply and reproduction department at NYS Higher Education Services Corporation with a total of 36 years of service to NYS. In the 1940's, Frank and his friends started a dance band called the Solid Seven. The band played in many venues, for years before changing their name to the Solid Senders. The band stuck together as the Frank D'Amico Orchestra for several more years, playing until 1979. He enjoyed watching professional football especially his New York Giants. He was a Charter member and Life member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192. Frank was also a member of the American Legion Post #4149 in Halfmoon and past member of the Troy Musicians Union Local #13. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving daughter Alisa (Christopher) LaRue of Latham, and several nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his brothers, Cosimo "Cosie" D'Amico and Anthony "Nino" D'Amico and sister Gloria Galeo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 31, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Anthony Barratt officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday October 30, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Watervliet. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the third floor at the Teresian House for the wonderful care given to Frank during his time with them.
