Obituary of Donald C. Hallenbeck Jr.

DONALD C. HALLENBECK JR. Loudonville- Donald C. Hallenbeck Jr., 65 of Loudonville, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2008. Born in Albany on January 18, 1943, he was the son of the late Donald C. and Elinor (Lichtel) Hallenbeck Sr. Donald was the owner and operator of Hallenbeck & Riley in Albany. For many years Don was also a creative writer of captions for the NY Daily News. Some of his hobbies included the Scrabble Club in Albany, as well as completing the NY Times crossword puzzles and gardening, especially tending to his own garden around his home. He was the family photographer, keeping everyone in touch with his photographs and witty comments. Don also was a devoted son and caretaker for his mother for 11 years during her illness and prior to her passing in 2002. His survivors include his loving brother: Peter (Linda) Hallenbeck of Loudonville, and his two cherished sisters: Bonnie Benincasa of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA, and Constance (Ned) Woody of Bow, NH as well as many nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be private. Interment will take place in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
