Latham- Richard A. Dick Rodgers, 76 of Latham, beloved husband of Hope L. Chandler Rodgers for over 50 years, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at his home with surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Long Branch,, NJ, he was the son of the late Harold Lee and the late Eva (Bull) Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers married Hope L. Chandler on April 19, 1958 in Nassau. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1951 on the USS Coral Sea.
Dick was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School in Albany and attended the National Camera School in Englewood, California.
He was a Photographic Equipment Repairperson and the owner and operator of Latham Camera Repair for many years until retiring in 1993. He was previously employed by the NYS Department of ENCON as a photographer for several years.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children Cheryl A.(Greg) Mazzola of Troy, Richard L. Rodgers of Latham and Robert A. (Margot) Rodgers of Colonie and his cherished grandson and buddy Josh R. Rodgers of Colonie.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening May 7, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Interment with full Military Honors will be Friday May 9, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. in Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
The family would like to thank the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County for the love and care give to Dick during his illness.
