ALFRED E. HOULTON
Cohoes- Alfred E. Houlton, 64 of Cohoes, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, February 25, 2008 at Schuyler Ridge Health Care, in Clifton Park where he was currently a resident.
Born in Cohoes on August 8, 1943, he was the son of Helen (Proctor) Houlton-Keith. His biological father Marcel Michaud was killed in France during WWII in the Battle of St. Lo. He also knew the love of his late stepfathers George F. Houlton and Bruce Keith. He was a graduate of the Florida Military School in Deland, Fl., and proudly served in the US Air Force
Al was employed for many years as a Truck Driver for various local trucking companies. He truly enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, hunting and boating, and was active for many years in the Boght Fire Co.
Survivors in addition to his loving mother Helen are his beloved children; Lori (Eric) Allen of Latham and Michael (Lynn) Houlton of Schenectady; his cherished grandchildren: Heather, Mandy and Michael Houlton Jr. as well as his brother: Marcel (Joyce) Michaud of Clifton Park, Step Brothers, James (Debbie) Keith of Clifton Park, Scott (Patty) Keith of Niskayuna and Step Sister: Nancy (Bob) Metcalfe of Mechanicville. Al is predeceased by his former wife Mary Ann (Sbrega) Houlton who passed away on February 2, 2007
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday February 28 from 10-12 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A celebration of Als life will be held at 12:00 noon immediately following the visitation at the funeral home with Rev. Nick Tebordo officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Als honor to the Schuyler Ridge RHC, 1 Abele Blvd, Clifton Park, NY 12065 for all of the wonderful care they gave toward Al during his time there.
Interment will take place with military honors at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
