Latham- Robert E. Silvernail, of Latham, entered eternal life on Sunday, January 6, 2008 The Epiphany of the Lord after succumbing to a malignant brain tumor while under the care of Hospice at Memorial Hospital. Robert was born on April 9, 1931 in Albany and was the son of the late Simeon and Irene (Dempsey) Silvernail. Bob worked for Eastern Tablet until its closing and later was employed at Our Lady of the Assumption Church where he met his wife Beverly-Jean LaBier while she was teaching kindergarten religion classes. The two married with a Nuptial Mass at the church on June 26, 1983. Bob served as usher all during their married life until recently. Bob was a graduate of Watervliet High School and the Albany Business College class of 1953 where he majored in accounting. He was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192. He belonged to the Jolly Seniors Bowling Club at Sunset lanes and until recently die aerobics at the then Ballys Health Club his favorite pastime. Survivors include his beloved wife: Beverly- Jean(LaBier) Silvernail and son Robert F. (Barbara) Sivernail of Latham, he was the dear brother in law of Joyce Ann & Thomas A. McTague of Menands, Dr. Douglas and Laura LaBier of Washington D.C. and Donald H. LaBier of L.A. CA. he was predeceased by a brother Richard Silvernail and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8:15 a.m. from the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Road Latham and at 9:00 am in Our Lady Of The Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Geoffrey Burke, Pastor. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-6 PM. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. Contributions to Clothe-A-Child c/o the Record 501 Broadway Troy, NY 12180 or Our Lady of the Assumption Church 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd. Latham, NY 12110 would be appreciated.
