Obituary of Katherine Baker

Troy-Katherine Baker 85 of Troy died Saturday at Our Lady of Hope Residence in Latham. Born and educated in New York City she was the daughter of the late George & Emily Geipel. Katherine had resided in Troy for many years and work with her late sister Mary Jane as a hairdresser in the Troy area for many years. She later was employed as a nurses aide in St. Mary's Hospital for many years. She was a longtime member of the 3rd order of franciscans and a communicant of St. Anthony of Padula shrine & chapel. Survivors include her sister in law Marie Higgins of Troy and nephew William Higgins of New York City. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday September 11, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Chapel 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane Latham with Rev. Firmin Finn officiating Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Our Lady of Hope Residence on Monday from 3-6 pm Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
