Obituary of Santo "Sal" Anthony Famulare

SANTO ANTHONY FAMULARE Latham- Santo "Sal" Anthony Famulare, 85 of Latham, beloved husband of Theresa Caldarelli Famulare, entered into eternal life on Friday June 5, 2015. Born and educated in Albany, he was the son of the late Rosario and Carmela (Trimarchi) Famulare. He was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School in Albany and attended Siena College in Loudonville. Sal married his beloved Theresa Caldarelli on February 27, 1965 and the two have shared a blessed union of over 50 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in the railroad industry for over 40 years and retired 10 years ago. Sal served as local chairman for the United Transportation Union for over 30 years. He was a Latham resident since 1969 and a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. He enjoyed fishing with his sons and one of his greatest joy in life was his family especially his granddaughters. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children Santo (Kim) Famulare of Ballston Lake and Carmen (Jen) Famulare of Rhode Island, his cherished granddaughters, Alexa, Ava and Gabriella, his sister-in-law Helen Famulare of Latham and several nieces and nephews. Sal was pre-deceased by his brother Carmen Famulare. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday, June 8, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
