Latham- Ciro G. Califano, 94 of Latham, beloved husband of the late Lilian R. Walker Califano, entered into eternal life on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Albany Memorial Hospital with his loving family at his side.
Born and raised in Porto D'Ischia, Italy By his grandmother Anna Monti Barile. He was the husband of the late Lilian R. Walker Califano who died January 12, 1993. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of World War II. Ciro was a U.S. Customs Inspector with the United States Treasury for over 40 years until his retirement. He and his wife resided in Staten Island until moving to Latham over 23 years ago. He was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in Loudonville. Ciro enjoyed his vegetable garden and going to garage sales and coin and stamp collecting. His greatest joy in his life was being with his family that he was so proud of.
Survivors include his loving children Anthony Califano of Henrietta, NY, Edward (Margaret) Califano of Latham and Laura (Michael) Lasky of Watervliet, his cherished granddaughters Nicole LaRosa and Dayna LaRosa. He is also survived by close family friend Robin Brooks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 11:00 am in St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road Loudonville with Rev. James Walsh officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Interment will be next to his wife in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
