Obituary of Amy Rachael Seward

AMY RACHAEL SEWARD Clifton Park - Amy Rachael Seward, 32 of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's, in Albany after a valiant battle with cystic fibrosis. Born in Walton, NY on August 2, 1982 she was the daughter of Brenda (Seward) and step-father Royce Gerow and the late Victor D. Seward Jr.. Amy was a graduate of Walton Central School and Russell Sage in Troy where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Business. She was an Accountant for ReEnergy Holdings in Latham for several years and prior to that, she was the Project Coordinator for Cummings Diesel Engines in Albany. Amy had a love for the game of tennis, bike riding and shopping, especially for shoes and purses. Amy had a kind soul and a feisty spirit that lead to the creation of instant best friends - you could add her to almost any mix of people and she would walk away with at least the beginning of a great friendship. Despite the enormous amount of energy it took to live with Cystic Fibrosis, Amy would always find the energy to help even a stranger that was in need. Throughout her life, Amy was cared for by great doctors, nurses, social workers and other staff at Albany Med, as well as over the past few months at St. Peter's hospice unit. Besides being caring and spunky, loyalty and a protective nature were a few great qualities that Amy displayed. In addition to her mother Amy is survived by her loving sisters: Charlotte (Gregory) Miller of Troy and Jessica Stephens of Oneonta, her boyfriend Christopher Kelly, her aunts and uncles: Jerry, Cheryl (Mike), Laura, Paul (Amy), Ann, Linda, Sharon and Roy, her nieces and nephews Kylie and Scarlet Stephens, Riley and Conor Miller, her cousins Theresa Perkins, Chrissy (Jovee) Walker, John (Mary) Walker, Alicia (Mike) Gannon, Cassandra Walker, Sam Sherman, Melissa (Paul) Marshall, Valerie (Sean) Bolger, David (Andre) Metcalf, Becky Metcalf, Ryan Fisher, Caitlin Oliver, Kyle Burdick, Hannah Walker, Chrissy Ritton, Kim Myer, Rob Smith and Marissa Seward and a host of other cousins, aunts and uncles and her close friends: Jonita, Paul, Jill, Alison and Linda. Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 12:30-2:30 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
