Obituary of Dorothy E. Burrell

DOROTHY E. BURRELL Cohoes- Dorothy E. Burrell, 69 of Cohoes, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Community Hospice at Memorial Hospital, in Albany. Born in Rockaway, NY on September 3, 1945, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Martha (Slovak) Appleby. She was married to John J. Burrell Jr. on September 9, 1967 and the two shared a blessed union of almost 27 years prior to his passing in 1994. Dorothy was a loving and dedicated homemaker, and her family was the center of her life. In her sparetime she enjoyed cooking, gardening and reading. She is survived by her loving children: Kerry I. (Slawek) Figiel of Clifton Park, Bryan A. (Denise) Burrell of Raleigh, NC and Erin E. Burrell of Cohoes; her 2 cherished grandchildren; Emma and Jack as well as her brother; George J. Appleby Jr. of Bel Air, MD and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 4-7 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham. Fr. Geoffrey Burke officiating.
