Obituary of Donald Pappalau

DONALD PAPPALAU Albany- Donald Pappalau, 94, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 4, 2015. He went to meet his beloved wife Gertrude who passed away on February 28, 2015. Born in Albany on July 27, 1920, he was the son of the late Henry and Rhea (Klaar) Pappalau. Don married the former Gertrude Vonk on September 30, 1950 and the two shared a mutual love and devotion for 64 years prior to his passing. He proudly served in the US Coast Guard during World War II. Don was employed with Dupont Paint Sales in Albany as a Sales Representative, eventually retiring after many years of service. Don is survived by his loving children: Donald B. (Lorraine) Pappalau of Arizona, Karen (James) DiNovo of Florida and Janis (Michael) McMahon of Latham as well as his 7 cherished grandchild & 8 great grandchildren. Relatives & friends are invited and may call on Monday March 9, 2015 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Funeral services for Donald and Gertrude will take place at 12:30 pm immediately following the visitation. In lieu of flowers and due to cemetery floral regulations memorial contributions can be made in Don's name to the Hudson Mohawk Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204 Interment will take place in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
