MARY W. FELTT Latham- Mary W Feltt, 86, of Latham and formerly of Willsboro, passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, into the hands of the Lord on Friday, January 23, 2015. Mary was born on May 23, 1928, in Saranac Lake, New York, to William Z. and Mary (Lashway) White. Mary's family moved to Willsboro when she was a child. She attended Willsboro Central School and graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 1945. On June 27, 1946, in Willsboro, Mary married Carlos Feltt. For most of their lives, Mary and Carlos lived, worked and raised their children in Willsboro. They lived for many years on Maple Street and lived their early retirement years in Buena Vista Park. In 2006, they moved to Latham. During Mary's early years of marriage, one or more of her siblings often lived with and was cared for by Mary. As her siblings married, they gravitated to her home to eat, play cards and babysit her kids. They enjoyed her homemade macaroni soup and chocolate cake with boiled icing. Many hands of Pinochle and Five Hundred were enjoyed by most. For many years, Mary was employed outside the home in Willsboro, Plattsburgh and Elizabethtown. She retired in 1990 from the Essex County Tax Department. When not working, Mary enjoyed having coffee with friends, cooking, baking and caring for her children, her husband, her father and her mother. After retirement, Mary and Carlos enjoyed spending winters in Florida and trips to Arizona. She also enjoyed gardening and playing dominoes and cards with friends and family. She enjoyed many activities with her friends at Hearthstone Village. Most important to Mary was her family, especially her nine grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. In addition to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mary is survived by her children: Jane and Rod Reynolds, Don and Joan Feltt, MaryAnne Sargent , and Carlos and Bev Feltt. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret Parkinson, Virginia Sayward and Julia (Fulton) Sheehan; her brother-in- law, Harold Tart; her sisters-in-law, Ellen White and Lucille Feltt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her daughter, Maureen; her sister, Teresa Tart; and her brothers, Francis White and George White. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday, January 26 from 4-7 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham, NY and on Tuesday, January 27 from 4-7 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, NY. Funeral service will be held at St Philip's Catholic Church, Main Street, Willsboro, NY, on Wednesday, January 28 at 10 am. Interment will be in Willsboro at the convenience of the family.
