ELOY M. JUNCO Latham- Eloy M. Junco, 81 of Latham, beloved husband of Margaret Amoroso Junco for 58 years, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital, in Troy. Born in Amsterdam, he was son of the late Fernando and Franqilina (Garcia) Junco. Mr. Junco married his beloved Margaret. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946. He was a graduate of Bethlehem High School. He was a Chef at the Golden Fox and Stone Ends Restaurants (family owned) in Albany for many years. He also worked at LaSerre Restaurant in Albany as well as the Empire Markets, Grand Union and Niskayuna Co-op. Eloy loved gardening, cooking, ocean vacations, his family and especially his cherished grandchildren. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children Eric Junco, Debra Waite, Lydia (Tom) Hall and Valerie (Jeff DePree) Junco. Cherished grandfather of Jeffrey Waite, Casey Waite, Tyler Junco, Nathan Hall, Marisa Hall and Spencer Junco, adored great grandfather of Zoe R. Waite. He was the brother of Amelia Scalzo, Henry Junco, Paul Junco, Vincent Junco. He is also survived by his dear friend and sister in law Anne Rivers. Eloy was predeceased by his brothers Joe Junco, Luciano Junco, Fernando Junco, Anthony Junco, Manuel Junco and Luis Junco and sister, Dora Caparasso. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
