FRANCES K. CASSERLY
Loudonville- Frances K. Casserly, 77 , beloved wife of James A. Casserly, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, in Albany.
Born in Cohoes on June 10, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Geiger) Meehan. Fran was married to Jim on August 31, 1957 and the two shared a blessed union of 57 years prior to her passing.
She was employed with the NYS Department of Public Works in Albany as a Secretary. She was a Librarian in Randolph New Jersey for several years. She volunteered at the soup kitchen in New Jersey for many years as well as several other organizations. Fran enjoyed crafts, sewing, oil painting, ceramics and refinishing furniture. Her love for travel brought her to many places around the world with her husband and she truly enjoyed vacationing with her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life and she was active in their activities including cub scouts and girl's and boy scouts. Fran enjoyed going to her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and games regardless of the weather. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham where she was a Eucharistic and Pastoral Minister.
In addition to her beloved husband Fran is survived by her loving children: Timothy (Shelly) Casserly of Latham, Kelly (Peter) Gardner of Westboro, MA and Kathleen (Christian) King of Latham, 10 cherished grandchildren: Christopher (fiance Danna), Daniel, Ryan, Luke, Jillian, Riley, Declan, Liam, Darby and Griffin. She was the dear sister of Charles (Jane) Meehan of Latham, Marilyn (Arne) Heggen of Clifton Park and Betty (the late James) Murphy of Latham and brothers in law, Edward (Jeanne) Casserly, Rev. Eugene Casserly and Charles (Beverly) Casserly.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday November 20, 2014 from 3:00-6:00 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated on Friday November 21 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham by Rev. Eugene Casserly and Rev. Geoffrey Burke.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Fran's memory to the Our Lady of the Assumption Memorial Fund 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd. Latham, NY 12110
Interment will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet.
