Obituary of Jayne M. Mahoney

Colonie- Jayne M. Mahoney, 91 of Colonie, beloved wife of Thomas J. Mahoney, passed away peacefully on Friday November 7, 2014 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy with her family by her side. Born on January 4, 1923 in Colonie, Jayne was the daughter of the late Guy H. and Helen (Hull) Armstrong. She was married to Thomas J. Mahoney in 1942 and the two shared a blessed union of 58 years prior to his passing in 2000. She attended Burroughs Comptometer School in Albany and was a member of Watervliet Senior Citizens. Jayne was a Bookkeeper at Sampson Prosthetic Lab in Schenectady from 1966-1969 and then for Selby & Smith Inc. in Watervliet from 1969 until her retirement in 1980. She was also a longtime parishioner at the former St. Patrick's Church in Watervliet. Jayne is survived by her loving children; Christine (Thomas) Beckstein of Grafton and Neil J. Mahoney of Marcy, her 7 cherished grandchildren; Thomas III, Leah, Joshua, Jesse, Nicole, Alicia and Amanda and 3 adored great grandchildren; Ella, Logan and Grace as well as her sister Beverly (Allan) Chabot of Colonie and daughters in law: Elizabeth Mahoney of Willsboro and Roselyn Mahoney of Argyle and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sons: Thomas J. Mahoney Jr. and James Mahoney and her brother Marvin Armstrong. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday November 11, 2014 from 11:00-1:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham Funeral Services for Jayne will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Tuesday immediately following the visitation. Interment will take place next to her husband Thomas in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Colonie.
