Obituary of Barbara H. Jewett

Latham- Barbara H. Jewett, 89, of Latham, beloved wife of the late Harold Jewett, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 5, 2014 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Watervliet on August 29, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William and Gladys (Smith) Williams. She was married to Harold Jewett on March 4, 1941 and the two shared a loving and blessed union of 71 years prior to his passing on December 6, 2012. Barbara was a loving and dedicated homemaker. Her family was her utmost priority and the center of her life. She was also a member of the Red Hats. She is survived by her loving children: Judith (James) Rigney of Clifton Park, Margaret "Peggy" Jewett of Latham, and Harold "Hank" (Barbara) Jewett Jr. of Clifton Park as well as her cherished grandchildren: Patricia (Philip) Fardig and Robert (Lisa) Jewett. Adored Great Grandchildren: James DeVoe, Robert Jewett, Ashley Jewett and Great Great Grandson, Aiden Jewett. She is also survived by her sister: Nancy Marshall of Spiegeltown and her brother Douglas Williams of Latham. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday November 7, 2014 from 12:00-1:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home at the conclusion of the visitation with Rev. Alan Delamater officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Barbara's name to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 or to the Parkinson Society 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue / Bob Hope Rd.
