MARK P. WOROBY
Loudonville- Mark P. Woroby, 55, of Loudonville passed away suddenly, on October 19, 2014, at home with his loving wife, Elaine, at his side.
He was born in Little Falls, NY, the son of the late Peter and Verna Woroby. Mark was a graduate of Mohawk High School class of 1977, and Siena College class of 1981. He was a dedicated volunteer at Siena. Mark lived a giving and generous life.
Mark earned his CFP and CSPG designations in Financial Planning.
Mark worked in pharmaceutical equipment sales then began his professional fund-raising career at RPI. He was Executive Director of the Wildwood Foundation, and most recently served as Director of Philanthropy at Make-a-Wish Foundation of Northeast New York. Prior to that Mark worked for firms including the AYCO Company, LP.
In addition to being a member of a number of professional associations Mark was the current President of the Board of the local council of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning.
Mark and Elaine enjoyed Siena Basketball, vacationing in the Finger Lakes, and he always made time to visit friends and family, often in the company of his dog Sofi. Mark was a good man, thorough and patient, he always had a story to share, and remembered all the stories he heard. Mark was proud of his ability to connect people.
Mark is survived by his wife, Elaine, his sisters Cindy (Michael) Mackesey, Clifton Park, NY, Kathy (Dean) Doxtader, Little Falls, NY, Sherry (Mike) Ramsey, Mohawk, NY, Jan (Steve) Scheutzow, Fairport, NY. Mark was loved by his in-laws, his nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Verna.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday October 23, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Angels Chapel at Siena College, 515 Loudon Road, Latham with Fr. Larry Anderson officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday October 22 from 4-7 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Those wishing to remember Mark may make a donation to The Mohawk High School Class of '77 Scholarship through the Community Foundation of Herkimer County, at 315-735-8212 or, the charity of their choice.
Private interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Herkimer.
