Obituary of Arthur E. Lajeunesse

Latham-Arthur E. Lajeunesse, 85 of Latham, beloved husband of the late Joan Ceglia Lajeunesse died suddenly Friday, August 15, 2014 at Samaritan Hospital, in Troy. Born and educated in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Arthur O. and Bertha VanSleet Lajeunesse. He was a Korean Veteran serving in the U.S. Army 82 Airborne division. Arthur was security guard with the Albany County Nursing Home for several years before his retirement and also a trucker for many years. Arthur was a Latham resident for over 26 years and a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. He loved to read, especially history and politics. He was a member of the VFW and a proud Korean War Veteran and advocate for Korean Veterans. Survivors include his children Jeanne Lajeunesse of Saratoga and Arthur P. Lajeunesse of Latham as well as his brother and sister-in-law and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday August 20, 2014 at 11:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham on Tuesday August 19, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Interment will be next to his wife Joan in St. Joseph's Cemetery of Cohoes in Waterford. Contributions in Arthur's memory to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society 3 Oakland Ave. Menands, NY 12204 would be appreciated.
