Obituary of Joan M. Powell

JOAN M. POWELL Loudonville- Joan M. Powell, 80 of Loudonville, beloved wife of Richard "Dick" Powell for over 54 years, entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Schuyler Ridge Health Care in Clifton Park. Born in Albany, July 11, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Jennings) McCabe. She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany. She was a Secretary with State Bank of Albany for several years retiring in 1966 to raise her family. Joan loved to play bingo especially at the Zaloga post in Albany She was a communicant of Christ Our Light Church in Loudonville. Survivors in addition to her husband include her loving children, Debra A. Powell of Albany, Cindy (Kevin) O'Brien of Clifton Park, her cherished grandchildren Amber Kyle, Taylor and Madelyn. She was predeceased by her Brothers, Thomas, James, John and Frank McCabe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday July 3, 2014 at 10:00 am in Christ Our Light Catholic Church,1 Maria Drive, Loudonville with Rev. Alan Jupin officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
