RICHARD D. POSTULKA SR.
Loudonville- Richard Daniel Postulka, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home in Loudonville on April 24, 2014. A life-long inhabitant of the Capital District, Richard was born in Watervliet, NY on April 10, 1934. Early in his life, Richard served in the USMC, worked for GE, then worked as a sales representative for several large national companies. In the early 90's Richard started his own company, Crescent Builders and spent the latter part of his working years building homes in the Capital District.
He is survived by his beloved wife: Louisa, his 4 loving children; Laura (Ric) Lucia of Princetown, NY, Richard (Diane) Postulka Jr. of Ballston Spa, Kathleen (Charles) Lucia of Mechanicville and Eleanor (Geoff) Postulka-Butzine of Abu Dhabi, UAE and Phoenix, AZ; 9 cherished grandchildren; William Lucia, Brandon Lucia, Jessica Lucia; Richard Postulka, III, Thomas Postulka, Jacqueline Postulka; Beth (Nathan) Lucia-Smith, Mark Lucia, and Brian Lucia; two siblings, John Postulka, Jr. of Watervliet, and Frances (Thomas) Turcotte, of Loon Lake and many nieces, nephews & cousins. He was predeceased by his parents John Sr. and Agnes Postulka, and siblings George Postulka and Mary Cihala.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday April 27, 2014 from 3-5 PM at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday April 28 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville. Fr. James Walsh will officiate
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Road, Rensselaer, NY 12144
Interment will take place in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Colonie.
