LEWIS A. COLLEY
Latham-Lewis A. Colley, 86 of Latham, beloved husband of Alice Sennett Colley, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 28, 2014 at his home in Latham.
Born and educated in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Lewis J. and Anna Katherine (Hockey) Colley. Mr. Colley married his beloved Alice Sennettt on July 11, 1959 and the two have shared 54 years of marriage. He served his country during World War II and the Korean War in the United States Marine Marine Corps. Lew was a Postal Carrie with the United States Postal Service in Watervliet for over 36 years and retired in 1985. After retirement he drove school bus for North Colonie Schools for over 10 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham where he served formerly as the President of the Holy Names Society. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fly fishing and hunting. He was a former member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 and a member of the American Legion for over 50 years.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children Michele Colley of Centerville, MA, Christine Colley of Latham, Charles Colley of Albany, and Thomas (Valerie) Colley of South Riding,VA, his cherished granddaughter Lucille Sennett Whittier and his sister Carol Ann O'Neil of Cohoes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday April 1, 2014 at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke and Rev. John Tallman con-celebrating.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday March 31, 2014 from 4-6 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Memory Garden's, Colonie.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin Dooley and Tom Zakrzewski for their care and compassion shown to Lew and his family.
