Obituary of Raymond A. DeGonza

RAYMOND A. DeGONZA Albany- Raymond A. DeGonza, 68 of Albany, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Community Hospice at Memorial Hospital. Born in Albany on October 22, 1945, he was the son of the late Richard and Helen (Coetta) DeGonza. Ray was married to Roberta Labunski on June 3, 1967 and the two shared a blessed union of 47 years prior to his passing. At one time Ray was employed for 4 years with the Albany County Sheriffs Dept as a Corrections Officer. He then was an Independent Paper Carrier for almost 30 years for the Times Union. Ray loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family and they were his priority and came first in his life. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving children: Raymond M. (Farrah) DeGonza of Troy, Anthony J. (Alicia) DeGonza of Delmar, David S. (Kelly) DeGonza of Colonie, Dionne "Dee" M. DeGonza of Albany, Edward R. DeGonza of Clifton Park and Sandra Feliciano whom he treated like his adopted daughter as well as his 6 cherished grandchildren: Niko, Ashlynn, Emily, Gianna, Talyia and Diego. He is also survived by his siblings Gail Farley and Richard (Betty) DeGonza both of Guilderland and Gary (Laurie) DeGonza of Delmar and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday March 12, 2014 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon immediately following the visitation at the funeral home Interment will take place in Memory Garden's, Colonie.
